Chasing numbers sounds like a good way to tell how successful your blog is, right? If you're getting two zillion hits on every blog you post, that must mean things are going great, right? Well maybe not. As a newbie to blogging, I found this post extremely useful. The gist: first decide on the purpose of your blog then work out whether you've got a good level of engagement with the people you most want to reach.
